About Us...
We are W.I.T.C.H - Women in The Community Hub.
Over the past few months, we’ve been meeting for a couple of hours every Tuesday morning to do some creative arts and drama.
W.I.T.C.H is made up from the wonderful women at York in Recovery CIC Community
Hub, and facilitated by women.

W.I.T.C.H ‘Festo
At the beginning of every project, as a group we draw up a ‘ways of working’ agreement setting out our expectations, wants, and needs to work creatively together. At the beginning of this project, we decided to do this as a manifesto. Bringing in different examples of manifestos to inspire us, collectively we decided to make ‘yes to...’ statements – and as women in the community hub – the W.I.T.C.H ’Festo was born.

We are women artists working with women in the York in Recovery Hub and with justice experienced women and girls. Founded in 2013 The Prison Partnership Project and its community initiative On The Out holds at its centre a collective mission to advocate for the dynamic potential of creative arts as a tool for individual, collective and societal change for women and girls in the community and justice experienced women. This work has been created through weekly trauma informed, relational, gender responsive arts practice, which utilises the arts as a tool for individual growth and societal change and is supported by partners: the Ministry of Justice, Changing Lives, York in Recovery, St Giles Trust, Humankind, York St John University, KPPL productions.
